Wills

Making a Will is an efficient way to ensure the estate goes to the rights people you love. Rights Law Solicitors is one of the leading law firms in London, offering expert legal advice to clients on the matters of Wills, ensuring the future of your family is secured.

By not having a will in place, one could risk:

• Having no control over who gets what

• Your children being disinherited

• Your surviving spouse losing their home, or

• Your estate being subject to more inheritance tax

If the worst should happen and you pass away suddenly, would your loved ones know what your final wishes are or who should inherit what?

Why you need a will?

People who do not a written Will have no control over what happens to their home, money, or assets after they pass away. It is important to make a Will, regardless of how much money or assets you own. There are several reasons for this:

• If one dies without a will, there are rules called the Rules of Intestacy’ that dictate how your money, assets and property is distributed. This may not be the way one wants his possessions distributed.

• If one is not married or in a registered civil partnership, one cannot inherit from another unless there is a Will. If one family members passes away, it could cause serious financial problems for the others.

• If a couple have children and they have not written a Will setting out child arrangements after their demise, then the courts will take responsibility over the children until they can find a guardian.

• If one has assets that are subject to inheritance tax, a Will could be a good way to reduce the amount of inheritance tax one pays.

• Wishes may change with the change of circumstances and one may wish to rewrite the Will reflecting his last wishes.
